Common Questions

Q:

What types of debt do debt management plans handle?

A:

Most debt management plans will include credit and charge cards of all types: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, gas & department store cards. Watch out for companies that want to cherry pick your debts by only handling certain ones. They are not working for your benefit. At Credit Advisors Foundation we recognize that there are other types of debt that can create problems for consumers. Due to this, CAF will also include in your program medical bills, personal unsecured loans, post repossession balances, old utility bills, student loans, state or federal income taxes, personal/family debts, certain payday loans and other unsecured debt.
Even debt that involves a title or lien, like a car or mortgage, can be included in your debt management plan in most cases.
