Your client # is listed on your statement.If a creditor calls you, tell them you
are now with a credit counseling agency.Give them your client number and the name
of your account manager. Do not give creditors the toll free numbers! Give them 402-393-3100.
Some of your creditors will continue to add interest, late fees or service charges.
It is important that you consider your payment to Credit Advisors as a minimum payment.
Therefore, your creditors receive only a minimum payment. Please increase your payment
amount to Credit Advisors ASAP.
These extra funds can be sent as a money order or cashier’s check. Better still,
are you able to fax an authorization to increase your regular EFT? This written
authorization must be received ten days before the pull date.
All additional funds to your creditors should be processed through your account
manager so creditors know you are still on the program. If you have questions, call
your account manager!
If you are paying only the minimum (2%) on your credit cards and you owe $3,000
on a card that charges an 18% annual percentage rate, it will take you 26 years
to pay and you’ll pay $6,862 in interest!
Last year Americans charged more than $1 trillion on credit cards. This means they
spent more than $60 billion in interest. If you buy on the assumption you will make
more money in the future you are gambling on your financial future! More than 1
million people filed for bankruptcy last year.
If at all possible, reduce your outstanding debt by sending us more funds. Use your
tax return or raises to build your financial future. Contact your account manager
to make arrangements!
Many phone companies act as billing agents for hundreds of small service providers,
most are legitimate. With the increase in telecom services it is possible to have
local calls, long distance calls, Internet service, etc. all on the same bill.
Review your statement to make sure you recognize all the charges. Many times the
illegitimate charges are within $3. This makes it easy to overlook and just pay
the bill. These bad guys may have charged 50,000 people $3, leading to a tidy sum
Look for charges for caller-ID, paging, wake-up services, voicemail, etc. Call the
billing company if you have questions. If the charge is invalid, the local phone
company will probably remove the charge. Don’t stop there! Register a complaint
with the FCC and FTC to help put these people out of business.
Local phone companies may allow you to block all miscellaneous charges billed to
you. They may also block calls to 900 numbers, often a sources for the illegitimate
charges! Let them help you stop these problems before they start.
Also beware of entering raffles or other contests. If the details seem vague or
you are unfamiliar with the sponsoring organization make sure you read everything
on the entry form. You may be signing up for a new phone service!
Credit Report Repeat . . .
Credit Advisors will pull credit reports through Credit Data for all active clients.
Reports will be pulled every quarter. This will help us monitor your credit report
for errors during the course of your consolidation program.
